She began by telling the students about her teaching and research work and explained how the knowledge and experience she has gained helps her in writing for children and young readers. She stressed that her desire to research stems from practical needs directly related to her teaching work, which is reflected in the field she researches in depth, and at the same time benefits her creative writing.
She went on to read some of the poems from the collection Moje hiške / My Little Houses, explaining why she had chosen them and pointing out the stylistic devices used in them. She talked about the beginnings of her writing career and the common motifs in her texts. She read two excerpts from the young adult novels Kar ne ubije / What Doesn’t Kill and V napačni zgodbi / In the Wrong Story, and also gave a brief introduction to her novel Vsak s svojega planeta / Everyone from Their Own Planet.
