At the same time, the visitors got to know the fossils of the Ljubljana Marshes, described them and tried to find out the details that are common to today’s animals and humans.
In The Animal Within workshop, they learnt about parts of their bodies that have changed or lost their function in the course of evolutionary history. They also also looked for “their ancestors”, in whom they identified some of the first forms of selected parts of the human body.
The Ljubljana Marshes Pile-Dwellings Day in Draga was organised by the Fran Govekar Ig Association. This year, it focused on the animal world of both wild and domesticated animals known to the pile-dwellings inhabitants in prehistoric times.
