There is a lack of awareness that having no knowledge and experience can quickly lead to confusion with poisonous plants, which often even results in severe damage to health. Today, artificial intelligence tools can be of help in this context too. The workshop will present the use of artificial intelligence for recognising aromatic medicinal plants: samples will be classified both by observation and by using an app; in a talk with us and other attendees as well as through questionnaires, you will be able to exchange your experience with using medicinal plants. The activity is intended to familiarise attendees with research into medicinal plants using artificial intelligence and to highlight their use (edible, medicinal, aromatic plants), risks (poisonous plants) and challenges (protected plants, invasive plants) through a plant recognition app.
The event is organized by dr. Nina Kočevar Glavač, Matjaž Ravnikar and Katja Schoss (UL FFA).
