My Profession – Research Pharmacist

In a casual manner, we aim to familiarise children with the (research) work of pharmacists as well as the strengths and pitfalls of artificial intelligence (AI) in searching for information on medicines.

We will talk about how healthcare professions are based on humanity – the care of one person – and about the importance of being careful not to equate  the extraordinary computing power of AI with human intelligence, the ability to judge and ethics.  To make learning fun, the children will become research pharmacists in a lab and make their own cream for dry skin; through this, we will endeavour to answer the questions how medicines are made and how they help people get better.

The event is organized by dr. Katarina Bolko Seljak and dr. Alenka Zvonar Pobirk (UL FFA).
