Launch of the European Researchers’ Night – Humanities Rock! Project

Our European Researchers’ Night – Humanities Rock! project, which will run for the next two years under the slogan Human(e) to Animals – Science Covers Every Being! was launched at the Lipica Stud Farm. We launched it twice.

In the Velbanca stable, the project was welcomed with speeches by the Rector of the University of Ljubljana, Gregor Majdič, PhD, and a researcher at the Faculty of Arts of the University of Ljubljana, Bara Kolenc, PhD, while the project programme, its aims, goals and aspirations were presented by the project leader, Sašo Jerše, PhD, Vice-Dean for Scientific Research and Doctoral Studies. The communication strategies of the project were presented by Bor Pungerčič, Communication Manager.

 

At the same time, the first activities of some of the University of Ljubljana members who are partners of the project took place. Workshops for children from Dutovlje Primary School, Bogomir Magajna Divača Primary School and Vreme Branch School were organised by Petra Golja PhD, and Tatjana Pirman PhD, from the Faculty of Biotechnology, Veronika Rot Gabrovec PhD, and Meta Lah PhD, from the Faculty of Arts, Alenka Zvonar Pobirk PhD, from the Faculty of Pharmacy, Milena Mileva Blažić, PhD, from the Faculty of Education, Zora Stančič, MA, from the Academy of Fine Arts and Design, Katarina Krapež from the Bežigrad Gymnasium, and Pšenica Kovačič from the Minami Kat Cat Culture Centre.

 

The opening was enriched with a cultural programme by the choir of the Faculty of Arts under the direction of Matjaž Barbo, PhD, and musicians Jernej Maček (trumpet), Žan Kopše (trombone), Gašper Okorn (horn), Dejan Gregorič (violin), Matic Smolnikar (guitar), Nina Misson (vocals) and Andrej Misson, PhD (accordion).
