Medicines are most often ingested. With release tests, we will illustrate what goes on in the stomach and small intestine, thereby showing what happens to a medicine in our organisms after we ingest it. Having been released from the digestive system, the active substance of a tablet is absorbed into the systemic bloodstream and transported to the site of action via blood. A proper concentration of the active substance in the blood is important for optimal treatment effectiveness and safety.
