In a relaxed environment, they tried to place the body parts in the correct places on the diagrams of different animals. They compared the skeletons of humans, chimpanzees, gorillas and Austrolopithecus Lucy and tried to place them on the evolutionary timeline.
They themselves classified the animals according to their main sense, the type of blood vessel and the way they breathe. The pupils said about the event: »I found the workshops very interesting. The students of the Biotechnical Faculty provided very fun and interactive workshops where we could learn a lot. We were also able to repeat the previously acquired knowledge about animals and humans. I hope that they will do something similar someday.«
The visit to the school was prepared and carried out by students of the first-level Biology program Eva Kopač, Blaž Režonja and Neža Kokalj and Maruša Poje, a student of the second-level Biology program with the help of mentors Zala Vidic, Katja Zdešar Kotnik, PhD, Tatjana Robič Pikel, PhD, and Petra Golja, PhD.
