Fairy Tales of Rezija in Depictions of Students of the Academy of Fine Arts and Design

From 24 August to 21 September, the 5. štuk Art Gallery at the Faculty of Arts are hosting the exhibition Fairy Tales of Rezija in the Depictions of Students of the Academy of Fine Arts and Design.

The art project was inspired by the 50th anniversary of the anthology of animal fairy tales from the oral tradition of Rezija, The Little Beasts of Rezija, written by the Milko Matičetov, PhD, Honorary Member of the Slovenian Academy of Sciences and Arts (SAZU).

 

The second-year students of illustration (BA) were introduced to the fairy tales of Rezija in December 2022 by the researcher of the Faculty of Education, Milena Mileva Blažić, PhD, and then the creative work started under the mentorship of assoc. prof. Suzi Bricelj.

 

From 16 January to 13 February, the illustrations were exhibited at the Academy of Fine Arts and Design, and from 3 April to 5 May 2023 at the Damir Fiegel Library in Gorizia, Italy.

 

This time they invite you to the exhibition at the 5. štuk Art Gallery at the Faculty of Arts! The exhibitors are: Gaja Aksinja Abramović, Matevž Bervar, Rea Bartulović, Zala N. Doupona, Jon Kušar, Eva Ježovnik, Nikolina Popov, Urša Volovšek, Amadeja Gvendolina Završnik.

 

At the opening of the exhibition, the illustrations and fairy tales of Rezija was presented by assoc. prof. Suzi Bricelj (Academy of Fine Arts and Design) and Milena Mileva Blažić, PhD, (Faculty of Education).

 

They also inviteed the audience to the main event of the European Researchers’ Night. The presentation of the illustration and fairy tales of Rezija will be held on 29 September at 3 pm in the Red Conference Hall of the Ljubljana Town Hall. On that occasion, they will be joined by Luigia Negro, President of the Museum of the People of Rezija, who will read the fairy tales in the dialect of Rezija. You are cordially invited!
