What does it mean to be a modern cat for a cat? We will answer the questions of whether cats really have an easier life because their basic biological needs are met by humans, and whether humans are fulfilling our own desires through cats instead of their own natural/psychical needs.

We will journey through the demystification, objectification and anthropomorphising of the cat through evolution and history to modern cohabitation.

Lectures on the above topics and a drawing workshop on How to Draw a Cat, How I See It and How I (Know) It, can be held.

We would also touch on topic issues, such as how to reduce the number of unwanted cats and why is it better to launch the ”Our Local Cats project” in some places instead of recklessly “rescuing” cats to “loving homes”.

We will argue the pros and cons of deepening our relationship with cats, our impact on their psycho-physical health and well-being, and the dictates of lifestyle and morphological changes. We are in favour of a great relationship with cats, but it should be based on understanding and compromise, not on bad and old practices. For a cat revolution!

Activity programme:

– advice on understanding and coexistence with cats,

– drawing cats,

– cat colouring,

– a cat quiz.

The activity is suitable for kindergartens, primary and secondary schools.
