They highlighted pigeon whistles and cricket cages as a special feature, through which the children got an insight into the attitude and purpose of animal breeding in China, and at the same time became better acquainted with the peculiarities of the Chinese musical culture related to the animal world.
The workshop was rounded off with a visit to the temporary exhibition of the Maritime Museum “Sergej Mašera” in Piran – Fragments of the Far East / East Asian Objects in the Mariners’ Collections, where the children turned into detectives and discovered the animal motifs on the exhibited objects.
The workshop is part of the East Asian Collections in Slovenia project (Department of Asian Studies, Faculty of Arts, UL) and the European Researchers’ Night – Humanities Rock! project.
