Human cells produce glycans using special enzymes called glycosyltransferases. In cancer, however, some of these enzymes become excessively active, which helps cancerous cells to spread and hide from the body\u2019s defence mechanisms.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Researchers have found that blocking these overly active enzymes can slow down or even stop cancerous cells.
