Through lectures and a 3D model of a human fish, students learned about the biology of the animal, genetic research, threats and distribution. In this workshop, the researchers also included learning about live animals, toads and swamps, and deriving the concept of amphibians.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><em>Every Species Needs a Name \u2013 Scopoli<\/em>: Students were first introduced to the importance of describing and naming species and to the importance of researching the diversity of life. This was followed by the identification of selected species from permanent collections using stereomicroscopes and the construction of bivalve identification keys.
