During the experiential workshops, the pupils learnt about animals in the urban environment and the different interactions between humans and animals.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The researchers introduced the pupils to the toad (the impact of traffic on animals in the urban environment), the mealworm beetle (insects as a food source), cockroaches (food, zoonoses), the red-necked turtle (pets that become non-native invasive species).<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The second workshop took place in the car park in front of the school, where the pupils learned about nocturnal butterflies and the effects of light pollution in urban environments on the lives of nocturnal animals, in front of light pyramids.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Coordinators: Gregor Torkar, PhD, mag.
